From the gorgeous foothills of the Peruvian Andes, we’re stoked to bring you the second season of our first directly traded coffee! It's a relationship ten years in the making, and it’s from the awe inspiring, biodynamic coffee farm, La Chacra Don Dago.
We named this ripper after the visionary, third generation coffee farmer, Don Dagoberto Marin. He and his three sons own and manage their 50 hectares, and for the last 20 years, they’ve been going far beyond organic principles of agriculture; managing
the farm regeneratively as a nearly self-sustaining system. One of the many benefits of this biodynamic system is to massively increase biodiversity, preserving the native broad leaf shade varieties and fruit trees to serve as a refuge for the diverse regional
wildlife, including migratory birds.
This particular tasty lot was fermented for five days in a temperature controlled, anaerobic environment, before being depulped and dried on raised beds for a further three weeks. The result is an exceptional coffee, with a rich creamy mouthfeel and crisp
notes of pear and tropical fruits. It’s an absolute ripper, and after ten years of trying to get our hands on it, we’re stoked to finally get to share this coffee with you.
