A super refined, delicate Kenyan from the Nyeri highlands - this beaut' is clean, juicy, and tea-like, with crisp citrus notes and a smooth nut-choc finish. A delicious and super elegant expression of Kenya’s high-grown washed coffees.
From the Kiawamururu Factory, within the Rumukia Cooperative, representing around 1,000 smallholder farmers. Their focus is meticulous hand-sorting, long wet fermentation, overnight soaking, and slow raised-bed drying — all supported by cooperative-led agronomy training, soil conservation work, and community education initiatives.
These initiatives directly support long-term cup quality - healthier soils leading to healthier trees; better training means better cherry selection; and a stable, supported community means producers can keep investing in their craft and community. The result is consistently dense, vibrant coffees with the complexity and sweetness Nyeri is famous for.
A delicate cup with juicy mandarin and pomelo, bright red currant, and a soft hazelnut undertone. Clean, lightly sweet, it’s still complex, but also, a chill and refreshing take on the classic Kenyan profile.
